A major in Italian can lead to a career in International relations,
the foreign service, international business, travel and tourism,
communications, journalism, teaching, or a number of related fields.
In an era when every issue has global repercussions (economic,
political, environmental, social), it is vital to have professionals
trained in foreign languages and familiar with foreign cultures.
UCSB's Italian Studies major responds to these needs. In addition
to the rich, interdisciplinary curriculum offered on campus, all
Italian majors can apply to spend their Junior
year in Italy, through the Education
Abroad Program (EAP).
