John Campbell is Reader in French at the University of Glasgow. He is an internationally recognized scholar on seventeenth-century French literature. Among his many publications are a 1996 book Questions of Interpretation of "La Princesse de Clèves" and a forthcoming book Questioning Racine Criticism (University of North Carolina P).
