This course is based on two fundamental goals:
1) to present a thorough review of French grammar:
2) to situate the discussion of grammar within a linguistic context.
We will thus be working prescriptively by focusing on the grammar rules themselves and working on our own mastery of French.
At the same time, we will also be working descriptively as we cover such topics as linguistic signs and structure, semantics, syntax, and morphology.
